Welcome to LodgingGuide.com's lodging listings for the Hilton Head Island area.
Hilton Head Island is a resort area with a small but growing residential population, located in the "low country" off the
coast of southeast South Carolina, between Savannah, Georgia and Beaufort, South Carolina. Here you can enjoy outdoor
activities in a relatively unpopulated and unhurried environment, such as charter fishing and crabbing, horseback riding,
kayaking, dolphin spotting and turtle watching, tennis, some of the best golf courses in the country, and due to the absence
of city lights, excellent stargazing on the beaches. The residential areas and resorts provide about the best food around,
and as would be expected, the freshest seafood. Originally underwater, The Island has been formed over the last 50,000
years by slow and continuous sandy runoff from the Appalachian Mountains. Like a slow, natural landfill, the borders of the
island are in constant flux due to the elements. Whether it is because the land is relatively new but completely natural, or
whether it is because the entire island is more resort grounds than populated city, it feels magical here, and completely
removed from the rest of the world. If you want to get away from it all, and have the time of your life, then spend some
quality time on Hilton Head Island.
